Well, I found the problem. Apparently the dealer I bought the car from decided to patch the O2 cable underneath the car, which ultimately shorted out the ECM. So the dealer I'm at now is working to get VW to replace it based on the problems with the last dealer - they'd need to replace the O2 sensor, the entire wiring harness and the ECM. 22 posts · Joined 2013. #6 · Jan 19, 2013. Hi frank, there's a known issue for windows dropping on the mk6 golf, it's a software update on the central electrics control unit, Volkswagen released a tpi (technical product info) for this issue, if the problem isn't sorted already I would return to a vw dealer.
