1744 Post (s) Re: 1.9 TDi big oil leak from EGR vent holes – 28-03-2014, 02:19 PM. The EGR valve itself is not the "cause" it is a symptom or an indication as it does not cause the oil to get in there, it just shows its presence more clearly and the spring clip junctions also tend to show the oil.

Dec 5, 2010. #5. A mass air flow above specifications at idle can be caused by too little exhaust flowing through the EGR valve. Too little exhaust causes more air to be ingested by the engine due to lack of exhaust gas dilution, and the MAF sensor is measuring this increased air flow.
